Vacation Day 1 Part 2

Ok. The kids were SO excited about seeing the ocean that the car could barely contain them. We met up with Tom at the house and went to dinner. We tried some fabulous new foods, fried crabfingers (the hit), fried pickles (not a winner), fried shrimp (always loved it), fried oysters (not so much) and stuffed crab (well, we can always say we tried it).

Afterward, we HAD to go to the beach. It was low tide and that let us see some really cool things as we skipped through the tide pools.

We found a baby crab skeleton that was shed in a tide pool. Rena was the only one brave enough to pick it up for the picture.

We also found a live hermit crab. He held our interest for about 30 seconds.

I just had to video tape this. There was so much you could easily miss on the beach. The kids couldn't stand still long enough to appreciate this little creature now, but I hope one day they can watch this a find it interesting.
